New York based alt artist, Kurisu Exelçior, gets risky with love and lust in his latest single featuring BAIN.

Almost a year since his last single ‘Save’, a rather introspective advisory to a naive lover, Kurisu Exelçior is back with another alt-R&B vibe. This time he’s leaving the cautious lover sentiment behind and stepping into a more impulsive, passionate energy in ‘Risky’, his latest single. His melodies are sound and solid, making it easy to hum along by the end of the track. The vibey keys hold down the lonely, late-night tone as they trickle throughout the song's entirety. Kurisu softly sings about the need for his love interest to come through despite how risky the choice is. Rapper BAIN drops in a verse to expand on the theme. Future collabs between the pair need to happen. Sonically, their voices match one another’s well. The contrast between Kurisu’s timid, youthful voice complement that of BAIN’s sonorous tone. The lyrics are plain sailing, yet get the point across. We do miss the lyrical substance delivered on ‘Conquest’, the second track on Kurisu’s EP titled ‘Moments of Refuge’, released back in 2020 (one of our favorites by the way). It’s a nice bag he’s stepped into, the emotional presentation in his recent work, though we’d love to get another single showcasing his fun, eccentric flow.
